Volume up,
PRETENSES OUT.

VINYL opened in Charlotte’s South End neighborhood in April 2022. As much as we’ve seen Charlotte and its bar scene develop over the years, we knew there was something missing: a good neighborhood bar where you could enjoy your favorite music over great drinks and food. A place you want to bring your friends and just hang out. VINYL is your neighborhood bar, remastered.

The name and concept were inspired by and pay homage to the popularity of vinyl records in the 1970s and their recent resurgence. It’s a celebration of iconic music and musicians. A place you’ll hear before you see, as the sounds of legendary artists spill out into the street when our garage doors open. If you grew up listening to legendary rock and hip hop artists – from Bowie to Bey and Bjork to Biggie – and love the feeling you get whenever they turn on your old favorites, VINYL is for you.
The atmosphere was designed to emulate one-of-a-kind gastropubs in New York and London while honoring great music of the past. At VINYL, guests are invited to sink into the industrial-chic atmosphere with music-inspired details: rich brick walls, a giant wrap-around bar, a dedicated DJ booth, an iconic David Bowie mural, a classic flap board (the only live flapboard in the city), Biggie Smalls wallpaper, and artwork that honors music legends of the last several decades.

This is a place you’ll want to bring friends and family when they visit. Somewhere you can roll up your sleeves after a long work day or your first stop on a night out. You’ll get a different experience at different times and days, but it will always feel familiar, comfortable and fun.
Our drinks are high quality, without the frills, including our cocktails, beer and wine. Our menu offers street foods with global influences, served tapas-style so you can get a taste of everything.

We’re a neighborhood bar where you can get to know your bartenders and they’ll get to know you. They’re just as obsessed with music as you are and love having fun with it. Come enjoy a cocktail and small plate with great friends and get lost in the music at VINYL.
